SUMMARY:Synergy: The Key to Effective Herbal Practice with David Winston RH (AHG)
DESCRIPTION:Synergy: The Key to Effective Herbal Practice with David Winston RH (AHG) \n  \n📆 Friday\, May 22\, 2026 \n⏱️6PM EST \nJoin live or watch the recordings \nSynergy: the Key to Effective Herbal Practice \nIn all the world’s great herbal traditions\, the use of single herbs (simples) is virtually unknown. Complex formulas are most often used and are if properly formulated significantly more effective than individual remedies.  With classic traditional formulas there are clear strategies to create a mixture that is more than the sum of its parts (1 + 1 = 3\, 4 or 5).  There are multiple ways to create synergy and avoid antagonism (1 + 1 = 1).  In this Focus Session\, we will look at the concepts and techniques used in TCM\, Ayurveda\, Unani-tibb\, Physiomedicalism\, Eclectic Medicine\, Siddha and Western herbal practice that allows the clinician to achieve superior results and repeated clinical success. \nTeacher Bio: About David WInston \nDavid Winston is an Herbalist and Ethnobotanist with 57 years of training in Chinese\, \nWestern/Eclectic and Southeastern herbal traditions. SUMMARY:Client Capacity\, Implementing Change\, and the Art of Collaborative Protocol Creation with Cameron Strouss\, B.S.\, RH (AHG)\, FH\, Aromatherapist
DESCRIPTION:Client Capacity\, Implementing Change\, and the Art of Collaborative Protocol Creation with Cameron Strouss\, B.S.\, RH (AHG)\, FH\, Aromatherapist\n❤ Pay from the heart pricing available; See below event description. \n\n$17 – Choose this option if you need to.\n$37 – Choose this option if you can. \n$57 – Pay it forward if you are able. \n\n📆 Tuesday\, June 23\, 2026\n⏱️ 6:00pm – 7:30pm ET / 3:00pm – 5:30pm PT \nAbout this Class \nThe most clinically sound protocol means nothing if a client can’t digest it\, integrate it\, and implement it. This Focus Session  explores the gap between what we think clients might need and what is logistically workable in their lives — and how practitioners can design protocols collaboratively with this in mind. \nThrough the frameworks of capacity assessment\, behavior replacement\, phased protocols\, and client/practitioner collaborative care\, in this Focus Session\, we’ll hash out how to more effectively meet clients in their lives rather than inside of our clinical ideal. Practitioners will leave with a toolkit for designing recommendations that are honest\, sustainable\, and workable for their clients. \n\nTeacher Name: Cameron Strouss\, B.S.\, RH (AHG)\, FH\, Aromatherapist \nTeacher Bio: Cameron Strouss is an herbal educator and clinical herbalist dedicated to making herbal medicine accessible and safe through clinically informed education. As the founder of Deep Roots School of Foraging and Herbal Medicine\, she has developed comprehensive programs that have taught thousands of students to practice herbal care with confidence and competence. \nHer approach integrates 17+ years of herbal study\, 9 years of clinical practice\, over 4\,000 hours of dedicated education\, and a BS in Biology from the University of Montevallo. Cameron holds a Clinical Herbal and Functional Herbalist Certification from The Eclectic School of Herbal Medicine and is a graduate of the Southeastern Institute for Traditional Herbal Studies. She maintains professional credentials as a Registered Herbalist RH\, (AHG) and is a Level 1 Certified Aromatherapist. \nHer teaching philosophy centers on empowering people to reclaim their own health while fostering deeper relationships with the plant world. Whether through her Herbal Medicine Monthly Subscription\, Advanced Medicine-Making Courses\, Cameron’s work consistently emphasizes practical application\, scientific literacy\, and the not so radical idea that informed herbal care belongs to everyone. \n❤ Pay from the heart pricing available; See below event description. \n\n$17 – Choose this option if you need to.\n$37 – Choose this option if you can. \n$57 – Pay it forward if you are able. \n\n

SUMMARY:Herb-Drug Interactions: An Integrative Approach with Benjamin Zappin\, LAc and Ingrid Bauer\, MD
DESCRIPTION:Herb-Drug Interactions: An Integrative Approach with Benjamin Zappin\, LAc and Ingrid Bauer\, MD \n  \n📆 Monday\, September 14\, 21\, 28\, & October 5\n⏱️ 6:00pm – 8:00pm ET / 3:00pm – 5:00pm PT \n  \nAbout this Series \nA Four-Part Series (4 x 2 hour classes\, 90 min plus 30 q&a each class) \nIn this series\, Ben & Ingrid will share from their years of experience in clinical practice navigating the intersection between herbs and pharmaceuticals\, and their years of teaching about this topic. Rather than trying to cover every possible topic\, after the first week of laying a solid foundation\, they will delve into their three favorite areas of health expertise: cardiovascular health\, pain & inflammation\, and mental health. \n  \nThis series will be geared toward advanced students and practicing herbalists and will primarily review Western herbs\, but will also include some information about TCM. We will ground our teaching in cases and offer suggested treatment protocols while promoting “flexible” herbalism. We will take a “both/and” rather than an “either/or” approach to integrative medicine\, and will highlight “red flags” that merit referral to a higher level of care. \n  \nPart 1: Introduction to Pharmacology & Herb-Drug interactions \n\nFoundations of pharmacology including pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics\nHow to read scholarly articles and interpret information about herb-drug interactions\nPotentially beneficial and/or harmful herb-drug interactions\nInterprofessional communication about herbs & drugs\n\n  \nPart 2: Cardiovascular Health \n\nBlood pressure\nLipids\nCardiac conditions: CHF and arrhythmias\n\n  \nPart 3: Pain and Inflammation \n\nMusculoskeletal conditions\nInflammatory conditions\nSmooth muscle and visceral pain\n\n  \nPart 4: Mental Health \n\nDepression & Anxiety\nExtreme states of consciousness
