Welcome to the new AHG website & member community!

Introducing the Brand-New AHG Website: A Game-Changer for Our Community!

We are thrilled to unveil the brand-new American Herbalists Guild website—designed from the ground up to better serve our members and the broader herbal community! This long-awaited transformation brings you a streamlined, modern, and highly functional online experience, making it easier than ever to connect, learn, and grow as a practicing herbalist.

The Journey: Why We Built a New Website

We’ve long recognized the need for a major website overhaul. Our previous site, built many years ago, no longer reflected the dynamic and growing community of herbalists we serve. Many of you experienced frustrations with outdated features, difficulty navigating resources, renewal notice issues, and clunky directories that failed to showcase the incredible herbalists and schools in our network.

Because of the support of our members and community fundraisers, this ambitious project has finally come to life! Thanks to you, we have created a platform that not only meets today’s needs but will continue evolving to support herbalists well into the future.

Here’s the outgoing website.

Challenges with the Old Website

Let’s be honest—our outgoing website had its fair share of struggles. We heard you loud and clear, and here are just some of the biggest issues we aimed to solve:

  • Outdated & Clunky Interface – The site’s structure made it difficult to find important resources, register for events, or access archives.
  • Complicated Renewals & Login Issues – Members struggled with managing their accounts, often receiving untimely renewal notices or needing separate logins for courses and membership management.
  • Limited Directories – Our directories for RH herbalists and herb schools lacked visibility, making it hard for potential clients and students to connect with herbal professionals.
  • Breakdown in Communication – Many members felt out of the loop about our offerings, events, and important updates due to the site’s limitations.
  • An Aging System – Our outdated content management system was becoming obsolete, forcing us to act quickly to prevent further functionality issues.

Finding the Right Solution

We knew this project required not just a redesign but a complete rethinking of how AHG members interact with our online resources. After an extensive search, we teamed up with Ryan Clover of Maple Creative, and over the past year, we’ve worked tirelessly to develop a cutting-edge website that brings all of our essential features into one seamless experience.

A Unified Vision for the Future

Our goal was to create an all-encompassing membership portal that integrates:

  • A user-friendly, modern design that makes navigation a breeze.
  • Self-editable directory listings so members can update their profiles with ease.
  • A dedicated online community for networking and collaboration.
  • A robust resource center with searchable archives, webinars, and educational materials.

Throughout 2024, our teams collaborated closely, with Ryan from Maple Creative and our Assistant Director, Devon, leading the charge. Together, they’ve worked tirelessly to ensure the new website delivers everything our members need and more.
