I am a clinical herbalist who started studying herbal medicine in 1981. I attended the California School of Herbal Studies and later studied and taught botany at the Southwest School of Botanical Medicine. I am the director and primary teacher at the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine, which I started in 1992. I am also a found and clinical herbalist at the Ithaca Free Clinic, which opened its doors in 2006. This is a free integrated health clinic.
Some areas of focus include herbal consultations, clinical skills, wildcrafting, medicine making, botany, first aid, and teaching.
I teach at conferences and schools throughout the US and occasionally in other countries.
One of my goals is to help make herbal medicine accessible and available to anyone interested. I also try to be a bridge between herbal and conventional medicine.
My favorite sort of outing is going somewhere new with a technical flora, keying out plants new to me, and taking photographs of plants and critters.
I am active on Facebook and Instagram.

I’m a clinical herbalist and Reiki practitioner specializing in sleep, nervous system dysregulation, and digestive disorders. Many of the herbal remedies used for my clients are grown on my herb farm, and I am happy to be able to provide a space for people to work with the herbs not only as preparations, but also in nature; I often encourage folks to spend time with the plants outside on the farm when they visit for an appointment. However, I do have virtual appointments available, as well.
After graduating from Tai Sophia (MUIH) in 2014 with a Master of Science in Therapeutic Herbalism, my family and I purchased a 10-acre homestead to begin my small scale herb farm and apothecary in Westminster, MD. Our land is listed as a botanical sanctuary with United Plant Savers, and many of the on-site herbalism classes I teach emphasis the importance of conservation and ethical harvestation.
When not seeing clients, much of my time is spent making medicine from the herbs grown on the farm, supplying the community with bulk herbs from my apothecary, and teaching classes for various herb schools, conferences, and community colleges. Recently I have completed my training with Margi Flint as a Legacy Teacher, in order to carry on the tradition and lineage of William LeSassier in the practice of Reading the Body through classes and workshops.
