Board Members

The Board of Directors is comprised of 10-12 elected representatives of the membership. Their duty is to act on behalf of the members to see that the mission of the organization, as stated in the by-laws, is carried out and that the organization is financially sound. The AHG has a working Board. All members of the Board serve on one or two committees and provide leadership for various projects. The Board works closely with the Executive Director who manages the AHG Staff and the day to day operations of the AHG.

My other books cover growing herbs, sleep, gut health, and another forthcoming. I began with a degree in journalism focused on herbs, first an editor for Natural Health magazine running their fact-checking department, and I’ve freelanced for many herbal publications. From there I decided to train as an herbalist which included the Southwest School of Botanical Medicine (Michael Moore), Sage Mountain Advanced Program (Rosemary Gladstar and others). Additional training includes flower essences and functional herbal nutrition. I respect herbal traditions from many cultures and perspectives, but herbal training and focus is primarily Euro-American Western herbalism with a focus on nutrition, holistic anatomy and physiology, herbal actions, energetics, food as medicine, as well as both evidence-based and tradition/experience-based herbalism. My early and side work experiences also included managing a co-op health department, marketing, and editor-in-chief of organic nonprofit and co-op newsletters. I guest teach at MUIH, Herbal Academy, Mass Pharmacy, Green Path, for NH Naturopaths, AHG, International Herbal Symposium, CE programs for psychologists and nurses. I founded the New Hampshire Herbal Network in 2009, now an AHG chapter.
