About this Class

How do you make the transition from herb student to successful clinical herbalist? The gap between studying herbs and running a thriving practice can feel vast, but it doesn’t have to be. To make this leap realistic, we need more than just plant knowledge and business how-to—it requires professional, ethical, and practical skills.

Join Caty Crabb, a clinical herbalist with over two decades of experience running a full-time practice, for a workshop designed to make that transition achievable and successful. With experience working with hundreds of clients and managing a high-volume apothecary, Caty brings deep, practical wisdom to this session.

In this class, you will:

  • Bridge the gap: Learn how to acquire the skills, confidence, and experience necessary to be a well-rounded practitioner.
  • Avoid common pitfalls: Discover when you are truly ready to practice and how to avoid mistakes that new practitioners make.
  • Build with ethics: Navigate the ethical considerations and intricacies facing new practitioners.
  • Get practical advice: Gain actionable strategies on client intake, working with family and friends, and running your apothecary.
  • Address your doubts, establish your boundaries, and start practicing! Register today to build the confidence you need to take the next step
  • Ideal for herb program graduates, self-taught herbalists looking to go professional, or students looking to gain insights and confidence.

Teacher Name: Caty Crabb

Teacher Bio: About Caty Crabb

Caty Crabb has spent the past twenty years as a full-time practicing clinical herbalist, consulting with clients, making medicine, and growing herbs primarily in southeast Ohio. Her ethics of practice are grounded in accessibility, with a client-centered and harm-reduction approach to healthcare.

Before starting her own practice, Caty studied with Michael Moore of the Southwest School of Botanical Medicine and Adam Seller of the Pacific School of Herbal Medicine. Through these teachers, she developed a philosophy of herbalism rooted in a deep understanding of physiology, ecology, and cultural awareness. She is inspired by the grassroots, locally centered nature of herbal medicine and by being part of a growing, decentralized network of herb growers, practitioners, and medicine makers dedicated to community health. Now living in Vermont, Caty is focused on teaching through her own school, the Aralia School of Herbal Medicine.
