Part 1 is the first step in the AHG Registered Herbalist application process. It helps us determine whether you meet the criteria to apply for RH membership.
Before beginning the application, please review the Registered Herbalist Application Criteria and RH Core Competencies to be sure that you meet our criteria.
Getting Started
Click the Part 1 Application link below to access our application platform and create an account.
- Register using your first and last name, exactly as you would like it to appear on your RH membership certificate.
- Do not use a business name or nickname.
- Logging in to your account gives you access to Part 1 of the application.
- There are no time restrictions for submitting Part 1. You can work on it at your own pace. Save your progress and return to your application whenever you’re ready to continue to add information or make edits.
Application Fee
A $50 application fee is due when you submit Part 1.
The fee is nonrefundable if your application is not accepted. However, you will not be charged an additional fee when you do meet the application criteria and are ready to resubmit your Part 1.
What You’ll Need to Provide
Part 1 asks for information about your education and experience as a clinical herbalist, including:

What Happens After You Submit?
The AHG Admissions Coordinator reviews every Part 1 application to determine whether the applicant meets the criteria to proceed. Please allow at least two weeks for a response.
- If you meet the criteria, you will receive access to Part 2 of the RH application.
- If you do not yet meet the criteria, you will receive an email explaining which requirements you have not met.
Your application will be withdrawn from the application platform so you can access, update, and resubmit it once you have met the RH Application Criteria. You will not need to pay another application fee.
We encourage you to take your time, review the application criteria carefully, and provide complete information about your education, training, and experience.
