Symposium Lodging & Travel Details

The 2024 American Herbalists Guild Symposium, October 4 to 7, 2024, is at the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain, North Carolina. 

The Blue Ridge Assembly is 40 minutes west of Asheville, North Carolina. The venue offers reasonably priced Lodging and Meal packages for those staying on-site. Commuters may purchase a Commuter Meal package.

Lodging and Meals at Blue Ridge Assembly

The Lodging and Meal Package for on-site guests includes two nights of lodging and meals (dinner on Friday through lunch on Sunday). If you would like to add lodging and  meals for an early arrival on Thursday, October 3rd or a longer stay till Monday, October, 7th, those options are available as add-ons when you make your reservaation. The total cost depends on your lodging/meal choices. See below for a description of lodging options and costs.

Lodging is available from Thursday, October 3rd, at 3:00 p.m. until the morning of Monday, October 7th. Choose the options you prefer when you make your reservation. All rooms include a meal package (see below) and there is no option for purchasing lodging without meals.

Meals All meals are served buffet-style and include two main entrées, two sides, bread, a deluxe salad bar (lunch and supper), and dessert. Vegetarian options are available at all meals. If you have other dietary restrictions, you must notify Blue Ridge Assembly when you make your reservations. There is a coffee shop in the lobby of the Blue Ridge Center that is open in the morning and at other times of the day. We’ll be hosting herbal tea stations throughout the weekend.

The Commuter Package for those staying off-site includes dinner on Friday, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and lunch on Sunday. It costs $88.00 and includes a $20 facility fee.

Additional Meals may be purchased. Friday breakfast: $13. Friday lunch: $15. Sunday dinner: $19. Monday breakfast: $13. Monday lunch: $15. Meals can be purchased when you book your reservation. A limited number of additional meal tickets will be available at the Symposium registration desk, but we cannot guarantee availability and encourage you to purchase them in advance or before September 27, 2024.

 

Lodging Options

We’ve reserved three buildings for Symposium attendees. Here is a brief description of each and the cost for two nights of lodging with a meal package. Lodging on Thursday night and Sunday night are also avaialble.. Note that there is a limit of four guests per room. Blue Ridge Center offers hotel-style rooms with two queen beds. All rooms have a private bathroom and AC/heat. The building has elevators and ADA-compliant rooms (and parking). The dining room is in this building. Total cost for two nights: Single - $395, Double - $254, Additional adult - $114. Asheville Hall offers hotel-style rooms of various sizes with two double beds, two single beds or one double and one single bed. All rooms have a private bathroom, AC and heat. There are no elevators, and some rooms are on the second floor. Asheville has a fabulous porch overlooking a beautiful stream. Total cost for two nights: Single - $395, Double - $254, Additional adult - $114

Weatherford Hall offers economy rooms, each with one double bed and one single bed. All rooms have a private bathroom and heat. Total cost for two nights: Single - $314, Double - $214, Additional adult - $114

Lodging Options for Guests with Limited Mobility. The Blue Ridge Center has two fully ADA-compliant rooms with nearby dedicated parking. Other buildings have some options for guests with limited mobility but are not ADA-compliant. For details, contact Josh Satori.
