We’re thrilled to welcome you to Roots & Renewal: An AHG ReGathering, a brand-new, in-person event hosted by the American Herbalists Guild. This special 1.5-day gathering offers an inspired continuation of our 2024 Symposium theme, now reimagined as Roots & Renewal.

Set in the Asheville area at the stunning Warren Wilson College campus, this event is a celebration of community, the power of plants, and the joy of reconnecting in person. It’s also a testament to the resilience of the Southern Appalachian region and the enduring spirit of herbalists coming together to share knowledge and lift each other up.

Here’s what to expect:

  • 🌿 A rich lineup of classes from Southeast regional herbalists
  • 🚶‍♀️ Guided plant walks with local experts
  • 🎤 A keynote presentation from a featured speaker
  • 🛍️ A vibrant Sponsor Vendor Area with herbal goods and resources
  • 🤝 Networking and social time with fellow herbalists

Classes will take place on Saturday, followed by plant walks, vendors, and time to relax and reconnect. On Sunday, enjoy a keynote talk, more plant walks, herbal shopping, and casual social time with peers.

Rose Rooted is a traveling Elixir Bar that blends the art of mixology with the healing power of herbalism—offering vibrant, non-alcoholic elixirs that are as functional as they are flavorful. Known for their concept of herbal mixology, they create alcohol-free drinks that support wellness while honoring the celebratory spirit of social gatherings. You can also explore their herbal products and get a taste of their workshops and sober/sober curious events.

Habibi Village serves traditional Lebanese saj wraps—completely gluten-free, vegan, organic, and packed with garden-grown goodness. Their ingredients are hand-picked, nutrient-rich, and deeply rooted in culinary and cultural care. The wraps feature:

1. Is there lodging available?

A small number of rooms are available for on-campus lodging at Warren Wilson College: two private rooms with a shared bath and two apartment-style suites. These will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, and this page will be updated as soon as all rooms have been booked. To inquire about availability and make a reservation, please contact us directly.

Nearby Accommodations
There are many hotels, short-term rentals, and Airbnbs in the Swannanoa and East Asheville area. If booking off-campus, please double-check the distance to Warren Wilson College to ensure a reasonable commute time during the event.

2. What will the food options be?

We will be hosting Habibi Village as our food vendor and Rose Rooted Elixirs as our herbal beverage vendor on-site, available during all scheduled breaks and mealtimes. We aim to offer vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free options. The venue is spacious and scenic, with plenty of indoor and outdoor spots to enjoy your meal—so feel free to bring your own food and enjoy a picnic-style lunch or dinner on campus.

3. How do I get there and what is the venue near?

Our venue in Swannanoa is conveniently located just 15 minutes from downtown Asheville and approximately 25 minutes from Asheville Regional Airport. Situated off a main road between Asheville and Black Mountain, the area offers easy access to a wide variety of restaurants, grocery stores, and gas stations—making it simple to plan your stay and enjoy local amenities during the event.
