Overview: The American Herbalists Guild (AHG is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Admissions Review Advisory Committee (ARAC) Coordinator for a contract-based, remote, part-time role. This unique contract opportunity focuses on managing the RH credentialing process, ensuring clear and supportive guidance for applicants while upholding AHG’s high evaluation and program integrity standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Application Management:
Screen all applications and communicate with applicants as needed.
Advise applicants about possible revisions or changes required in their applications before sharing them with ARAC members.
Answer all questions about the application process submitted by applicants and other AHG stakeholders via email and phone.
ARAC Meetings and Coordination:
Organize at least three ARAC meetings annually, including reviewing applications, assigning reviewers, setting meeting dates, and contacting applicants after meetings.
Share results with AHG staff for follow-up.
Applicant Support and Coaching:
Schedule one-hour coaching appointments for applicants who receive a “pending” score on applications.
Host three one-hour Registered Herbalist Informational Webinars annually to answer member questions about the RH application process.
Host formal and informal meetups with future applicants at the AHG Symposium as needed.
Program Development and Compliance:
Conduct orientations for all new ARAC members.
Maintain and recommend updates to guidelines for ARAC members.
Provide recommendations to the Executive Director, Governing Committee and AHG board about new application policies and procedures.
Implement new policies and procedures as requested by the Executive Director (ED).
Digital Platform and Process Management:
Collaborate with the AHG Office to maintain, update, and edit digital application content and processes on the SlideRoom platform.
Monitor RH application pages on the AHG website and update/revise as needed with all policy and procedural changes.
Reporting and Communication:
Act as a liaison between Executive Director, ARAC members, and applicants.
Meet monthly with the ED to discuss progress, assess milestones, and provide recommendations.
Prepare and submit monthly reports on all ARAC business matters.
Qualifications:
Must be a current Registered Herbalist (RH) with the American Herbalists Guild (AHG).
Proven experience in program management, admissions, or a related administrative role.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Experience with volunteer management and coordinating committees is a plus.
